Bible translation comparison -  KJV, SKJV   -  NKJV  -   NIV, ESV, NAS etc  and NWT (Jehovahs Witness)

                                     Things that are different are not the same!
Acts 8:37 - KJV, SKJV, NKJV (verse complete)  -  NIV, ESV, NWT (verse missing)

This is just a small sample of between 5000 to 6000 changes (depending on the translation) This is because most modern translations use a different base of manuscripts, based on Westcott and Hort's 1881 new Critical Text. Traditional protestant Bibles such as the KJV, Geneva, Tyndale, Coverdale, Bishops, Websters etc (plus the Simplified KJV 2025) are all based on the historic group of manuscripts, which we have in the Received Text.

Bibles based on the Critical Text say different things because they are based on different manuscripts.

1 Corinthians 14:33 - "For God is not the author of confusion.."

2 Corinthians 2:17 - "For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God..." - NIV, ESV, NAS, LSB etc (peddling)

Psalm 138:2 - ..."You have magnified Your word above all Your name."

John 17:17 - "Sanctify then through Your truth. Your word is truth."

1 Peter 2:2 - "..desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow by it,"

How are we to grow into sanctification without the pure complete word of God?

Proverbs 30:5 - "Every word of God is pure..."

Deuteronomy 4:2 - "You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor shall you take away anything from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God..."

The last command in the Old Testament and the New Testament warn us of the danger of neglecting God's word.

Malachi 4:4 - " Remember the law..."

Revelation 22:18 - " ..If any man adds..God shall add to him the plagues.."

Revelation 22:19 - "And if any man takes away from the words of the book...God shall take away his..book of life"

Satans first recorded words in the Bible are "...has God said..." Genesis 3:1
